Isn’t the human form beautiful to behold?
Alone we are magnificent, but there is something incredible in how our hands are shaped to fit another’s, how our eyes meet and connect on a level that’s quite wondrous.
We can crave physical closeness because of the emotions it brings out within us, passion, love, desire to name but a few. To be known by someone on a physical level can do so much for us, or can do so much to us.
In our quest to feel wanted, we can reveal our most vulnerable selves in the hopes of reciprocation.
It is a risk, in many ways. It is why we must guard our hearts, minds and bodies as we journey through life. To let another soul close is to come undone before them, it is not merely a question of readiness but of trust and faith because our sacred spaces are not for everyone, they are for the selfless, for those that desire our love and wish to love us in return.
Chasing after affection from the elusive and the sporadic will only wither the hope within us. Let us be truly wise in our intimacy, let us be discerning, let us be true to ourselves.
